It’s common for men and women to experience a loss in facial volume as they age, contributing to skin folds and deep wrinkles. Injectable dermal fillers can be used to smooth facial lines, creases, wrinkles, and scars that result from volume loss for a smoother, more youthful appearance.

The team of medical professionals at our Eugene office specializes in non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments like dermal fillers. Our experienced nurse injectors have helped thousands of women and men enhance their appearance and revitalize their appearance with their customized approach to facial rejuvenation.

Before Your Dermal Filler Procedure

Each individual’s face is different, and areas of concern vary from person to person. Scheduling a consultation with our Physician or RN injectors can help you to make the most of your treatment. A consultation offers you the opportunity to discuss your specific goals and how you would like your final results to appear. Our Physician or RN injectors offer expert advice on the type of filler that’s best suited to your needs and answer any questions you may have.

Our faces begin to lose some of the natural fat and tissue underlying the skin as we age, causing creases and wrinkles to become more pronounced, or resulting in a gaunt, hollowed look. Sun exposure, lifestyle factors, and heredity can also influence the appearance of your complexion. Common problem areas that benefit from dermal fillers include the nasolabial folds (laugh lines), marionette lines, lips, cheeks, and tear troughs.

Anyone with deep facial lines or creases may be a candidate for dermal fillers, as well as individuals seeking lip or cheek augmentation.

We offer a range of fillers to meet your specific needs:

  • JUVÉDERM®: A versatile hyaluronic acid (HA) filler that can deliver results lasting for six to nine months.
  • JUVÉDERM® XC: The first and only FDA-approved HA filler that can be used to correct diffuse volume loss through the cheek area.
  • JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC: Also an HA filler, this adds fullness and definition to lips and softens lines around the mouth for up to a year.
  • VOLUMA®: Helps restore a more youthful profile for up to two years with optimal treatment.
  • RADIESSE®: Typically injected more deeply than JUVÉDERM®, RADIESSE® is made of calcium hydroxyapatite particles, which offer more firmness and support than HA fillers.
  • Restylane®: Another HA filler, this can be ideal for filling vertical “smoker’s lines” around the mouth, often in combination with BOTOX®.
  • Sculptra®: A poly-L-lactic acid filler, Sculptra® stimulates collagen production to enhance the structure of your skin, restore volume, and smooth wrinkles and folds for up to two years.

Your Dermal Filler Procedure

Injectable fillers are relatively quick, simple treatments that require very minimal downtime. Whether you want to fill in facial wrinkles or scars, augment your lips or cheeks, or you have a combination of concerns, our skilled injectors customize each procedure to meet your specific goals.

The details of each treatment vary depending upon the type of filler that is used and the area that is being treated. In general, each treatment follows the same steps:

  • The injection site is cleaned and sterilized.
  • Anesthetic ointment can be applied topically.
  • The site or sites are injected with dermal filler.

Depending upon the number of treatment sites, your appointment time can range from 30 to 90 minutes.

Healing Process after Dermal Fillers

There is no downtime required for dermal fillers, so patients are usually able to resume their normal routines right away. Immediately following an injection, there may be some minor swelling or redness in the treated areas that should subdue within several hours to a few days. Applying ice to the location can help minimize swelling, and your results should be visible once swelling has gone down.

Injectable fillers are temporary treatments. Follow-up injections are necessary in order to maintain your results longer-term. The time in between touch-ups will vary from person to person and depends upon the type of filler that is used. In general, the effects can last anywhere from six to 24 months.
