Before getting your treatment, you’ll have a brief, one-on-one consultation to talk about the procedure. During this time, you’ll be able to outline your goals for your skin and even map out a treatment plan with one of our Certified Advanced Aestheticians.
In addition to clearing away dead skin cells and unclogging pores, microdermabrasion and micro peel treatments can also stimulate collagen production, helping to combat signs of age. Many men will schedule regular treatments to maintain a younger complexion or choose to combine skin resurfacing with other medical spa procedures, such as laser skin rejuvenation.
Microdermabrasion treatments only last around 30 minutes. After cleaning your skin, your Certified Advanced Aesthetician will move a diamond-tipped microdermabrasion wand across the surface of your skin, loosening dead cells and other types of debris, before suctioning away the crystal particles along with any residue that is removed from your skin’s surface.
The sensation may feel like a vibration on the skin’s surface with gentle suction. Your Certified Advanced Aesthetician will customize each treatment for your specific needs and may perform multiple passes over problem areas of the skin.
Micropeels combine three different procedures – dermaplaning, a chemical peel, and a frozen CO2 application. Because micro peels combine both manual and chemical exfoliation, they can improve the texture and tone of the skin and can also assist in boosting your skin’s hydration levels.
Depending on the level of pigmentation in your face, a micro peel may lighten your skin tone as well. Your Certified Advanced Aesthetician may recommend a series of 4 to 6 micro peel treatments over a year for lasting results.
There is no downtime required for microdermabrasion and micro peels, and you can return to your busy schedule once you leave our office. Your complexion will likely appear slightly pink when your treatment is finished, but this should fade within a few hours. Your skin will be photosensitive for about a week following your treatment, so you should use sun protection if you spend time outdoors.
Many men notice that their skin appears brighter and feels smoother immediately after a skin resurfacing treatment. Practicing proper skin care and sunscreen use can prolong your results.
