The patient is a 45 year old who had two children and had lost around 40 pounds over the previous six months. In discussing her concerns with Dr. Daniel, she was mainly interested in abdominoplasty surgery, but she had thought about improvement to her breast shape and contour as well. Dr. Daniel discussed with the patient that combined breast and abdominal contouring (mommy makeover) is a signature operation for him, and for patients that are good candidates, it ultimately can be a fair amount less expensive to do the two procedures in the same setting as opposed to two separate operations. Dr. Daniel’s practice is very involved in CareCredit (financing for cosmetic procedures), which helps many patients proceed with elective cosmetic surgeries.
This patient had a vertical bipedicle mastopexy, which ultimately leaves her with somewhat of an anchor-shaped incision to the breast. Imbricating extended abdominoplasty techniques were used that included some hip feathering liposuction. Dramatic improvements are seen in her seven month postop photographs. The incisions haven’t fully faded at seven months, as it typically takes up to 12 months for scars on the torso to fade well. Her results are quite natural and attractive and the patient and Dr. Daniel were both thrilled.
