Before starting your laser tattoo removal treatments, you’ll have a private consultation with one of our Certified Advanced Aestheticians. During this time, you can outline your skin goals, and your skin and ink will be evaluated. Men with all types of skin and skin colors can be great candidates for laser tattoo removal, though your results may vary depending on your skin tone and how well your skin responds to laser therapy.

Laser tattoo removal can be effective on ink of all colors.
During your laser tattoo removal treatment, your laser technician will pass the PicoSure device over your skin, allowing the laser energy to gently penetrate the dermis. You can expect to feel a warming sensation as the laser passes over the treatment areas. A cooling cream may be used to maximize your comfort during the treatment and help your skin heal quickly. The entire procedure will vary in length depending on the size and number of tattoos you would like to have removed.
While you may resume your normal routine once your treatment appointment is finished, you should take special care to protect the treated area from exposure, and in particular, sun damage. Your skin will be extra photosensitive as it heals from the laser treatment, and you should keep the area covered when you go outside for the first couple of weeks.
After the first couple of weeks, continue to protect the area from the sun with sunscreen. The treated area may appear slightly red or swollen immediately following your appointment, but these side effects should fade within a few days. You may experience a slight burning or stinging sensation similar to a sunburn. Cold compresses or aloe vera gel can help expedite the healing process.
You may notice your tattoo ink starting to fade after the first treatment, though most men schedule a series of 3 to 4 laser tattoo removal sessions spaced about 6 weeks apart.
