For anyone uncomfortable with the presence of acne scarring, wrinkles, sun spots, or other skin discolorations on your face or body, laser skin resurfacing with Fraxel®, available at our Eugene office, may offer a solution for improving the appearance of your complexion.
The team at Aesthetic Plastic Surgery specializes in laser skin treatments and dermal therapy. The choice to receive a non-surgical cosmetic procedure is a personal one, and our Certified Advanced Aestheticians honor your unique needs and preferences, striving to help you meet your cosmetic goals with a customized approach.
The first step to seeing a rejuvenated appearance with laser resurfacing is meeting with one of our laser specialists at Aesthetic Plastic Surgery to discuss your needs and how to achieve your ideal results. One of our Certified Advanced Aestheticians will assess your complexion, review your options for treatment, and answer any questions you may have. Depending on your goals, we may recommend PicoSure® laser treatments or additional med spa treatments to provide you with results that will best address your needs.
Fraxel® laser skin resurfacing can be a great option for patients of all skin types and colors, though individual results may vary depending on the number of treatments and whether you undergo any additional procedures.
While laser therapy is particularly effective in treating pigmented blemishes on the skin such as sun spots and acne scars, it can also be a great option for restoring elasticity and tightness. Fraxel® has been FDA-cleared to treat a variety of skin imperfections, including:
For deeper acne scars or wrinkles, you may see better results by combining laser treatments with injectable dermal fillers or BOTOX®.
Men and women considering laser skin resurfacing should strive for improvement rather than perfection. However, after a series of treatments, results can be significant, helping you feel confident about your complexion and enjoy a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance.
Fraxel® Restore laser is a revolutionary method of skin rejuvenation that uses a fractionated erbium laser to produce thousands of tiny but deep columns of microscopic treatment zones in your skin.
During the treatment process, the Fraxel® laser penetrates deep into the dermis to eliminate old epidermal pigmented cells. The laser targets and stimulates your skin’s natural collagen to rejuvenate the cells underneath, leaving the surrounding tissue unaffected.
This “fractional” treatment allows the skin to heal much faster than if the entire area were treated at once. After treatment, the body’s natural healing process creates new, healthy tissue that is tighter and more elastic to replace old imperfections in the skin.
Your healing time will depend on how extensive your treatment was and how your skin responds to laser resurfacing. More intensive treatments can offer more noticeable results but will require longer healing times as well.
The treated skin will likely appear red and feel uncomfortable and swollen for several days, similar to a sunburn. Patients who undergo extensive laser skin rejuvenation may have some skin peeling during the first few days, though this will resolve itself as new dermal cells are formed under the treated tissue.
Normal activities can be resumed within several days following your laser skin resurfacing treatment. Our Certified Advanced Aestheticians will review specific treatment instructions with you after your procedure, depending on which skin areas were treated and how intensive the therapy was. Most people see the best results after a series of four to six laser skin treatments spaced two to four weeks apart.
