Tummy Tuck Surgery for Men in Eugene, OR
For men who have lost weight only to find that they have baggy skin and a stubborn spare tire that lingers around their midsection, a tummy tuck can restore a fitter-looking physique. A tummy tuck, technically known as abdominoplasty, can also tighten and restructure the underlying abdominal musculature to create firmer contours.
Dr. Lee B. Daniel is board certified in both general surgery and plastic surgery. He is a body contouring specialist, especially when it comes to performing tummy tucks. Together with his team of medical professionals at Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. Daniel dedicates himself to helping men meet their appearance goals with the help of cosmetic surgery.

Before Your Tummy Tuck
Tummy tucks are popular procedures for men who have undergone weight loss and are left with saggy skin, loose abdominal muscles and excess fatty tissue. The natural aging process can also be a factor in developing skin laxity and fattiness around the abdomen.
Dr. Daniel will meet with you for a pre-surgery consultation where you can discuss your expectations for surgery. Depending on your goals and your physical evaluation, Dr. Daniel will determine whether you are a good candidate for a tummy tuck and the results you can expect to see after your procedure.
Your Tummy Tuck Procedure
For men, a tummy tuck can be ideal for sculpting abdominal musculature by removing fatty deposits and loose skin, as well as tightening the muscles themselves. Dr. Daniel believes that the best tummy tuck results come from customizing each procedure to the patient’s individual anatomy, so he offers more than one technique when performing abdominoplasty:
Full (Traditional) Tummy Tuck
A full tummy tuck involves a horizontal incision that’s placed low in the abdomen just above the pubic bone. Another incision is made around the navel. Because the incision length is in part determined by the level of correction needed, the size of the incision may vary from patient to patient.
Mini Tummy Tuck
A limited version of the full tummy tuck, the mini tummy tuck can still deliver excellent results in the right candidate. The mini tummy tuck uses a shorter incision, and is better for men whose skin laxity is limited to below the navel only. Although the mini tummy tuck can mean a smaller scar, this procedure does not offer the same level of correction as a traditional abdominoplasty.
Liposuction
Men tend to store more fat around their midsection than women, particularly with age, and will often find that stubborn abdominal fat can be hard to slim down naturally. For men who are self-conscious about excess abdominal fat, your tummy tuck may be combined with liposuction for more comprehensive contouring results.
Healing Process for Your Tummy Tuck
Immediately following your surgery, you may find it difficult to stand fully upright due to the location of your incisions. This issue, in addition to bruising and swelling, can make your tummy tuck results harder to see at first but should improve after about a week. Dr. Daniel may have you wear a compression garment after your tummy tuck to support your abdomen and promote healing. You are also recommended to abstain from vigorous activities or exercises that may prolong the healing process.
Once you have fully healed, you should notice a firmer, contoured midsection with better-defined abdominals. Although a tummy tuck, even when paired with liposuction, is no substitute for natural weight loss, the procedure can reduce excess tissue around your abdomen and restore a trimmer waistline, along with creating a more masculine muscle definition.
