Before Your MiraDry® Treatment

Before your first miraDry® treatment, a one-on-one consultation will be conducted with our physician, Dr. Baldwin. During this consult, you and your provider will discuss your overall health, personal goals and expectations for your miraDry® treatment, and address any questions or concerns you may have.

MiraDry® is FDA-cleared to treat even the most severe cases of excessive sweating, known as hyperhidrosis. If you’ve been diagnosed with hyperhidrosis, it can sometimes be caused by an underlying condition, such as diabetes or hyperthyroidism. Before using miraDry® for hyperhidrosis treatment, it’s a good idea to rule out any root causes first beforehand. Lab work can be done to determine if any underlying issues are causing your excessive sweating.

Your MiraDry® Treatment

If no underlying medical condition is identified, you may be a good candidate for miraDry®. MiraDry® is a fast-acting, non-invasive treatment that uses electromagnetic energy to destroy sweat and odor glands. Some individuals are able to forego deodorant altogether after their miraDry® treatment.

One miraDry® treatment only takes about an hour to complete. You will likely not feel anything during the procedure, as your underarms will be numbed before treatment. There may be some swelling, soreness, tingling, and numbness after your miraDry® treatment, but these after-effects typically clear-up within a few days.
