Although implant size is often the main factorPerfection in the flesh women think of when planning for breast augmentation, there are many considerations that need to be taken into account when choosing the most flattering breast implants for your body. Deciding on the right implant for you may take a little homework, but these four tips can help.

1. Try the Rice Test

The “rice test” is an easy trick you can try at home to get a better idea of how different implant sizes could look on your figure. Simply cut a length of pantyhose, fill with rice, tie off the open end and insert into your bra. One cup of rice equals about 250 ccs.

2. Check Out Before and After Photos

One way to determine the best breast implants for you is to look at before and after photos of other women who have had breast augmentation. Specifically, look for those women who have a similar stature or body frame to your own, and note the difference that implant size, shape and profile have made in their results.

3. Keep an Open Mind

Although you may have your heart set on a certain size or type of implant, it’s important to keep an open mind. Your surgeon may recommend adding a breast lift for a better final result, or your anatomy may not work with the specific implant size you had in mind. Remember, seeing a beautiful end result is much more important than sticking to a pre-determined plan.

4. Choose an Experienced Surgeon

It may take some time before you find the perfect breast augmentation surgeon. Always look for a board certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in breast augmentation. Surgical skill is the most important factor in ensuring the best possible breast augmentation results.
