breast lift vs breast reductionBreast augmentation isn’t the only breast enhancement procedure on the block. If you’re struggling with overly large breasts, skin laxity or both, you could be a better candidate for a breast lift or breast reduction.* Not sure what the difference is between these two procedures? Take a quick look at this breast lift vs. breast reduction comparison.

Breast Lift vs. Breast Reduction

If you’re stuck on the decision to get a breast reduction or a lift, the first things to consider are your goals. If you’re generally happy with the size of your breasts, but you’d like to address loose skin and a drooping, “deflated” appearance, a breast lift on its own could be the answer.*

[pullquote]Many women choose to get a breast lift after having children, or simply due to the natural aging process.[/pullquote]

On the other hand, if you’re having trouble with back, neck or shoulder pain because of very large breasts, a breast reduction might be the right choice. Breast reduction surgery generally also includes elements of a breast lift, since some of your natural breast tissue will be removed, which can result in excess skin without a lift.*

Which Is Right for You?

It can be hard to decide on your own which procedure(s) might be the best option to meet your goals. Your best bet is to schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who has experience with breast surgery. He or she can help you decide whether you could be a better candidate for a breast reduction or a breast lift.
