1. Quit Smoking

In addition to being generally harmful for your health, smoking increases your risk of complication both during and after surgery. Most doctors recommend that smokers give up tobacco use at least two months prior to their surgery date. Nicotine restricts your blood flow, which is an important part of the healing process.

2. Adjust Your Medications

If you take any routine medications, your surgeon may ask that you adjust your dosage before and after your breast augmentation. Again, this is because certain medications may affect your blood circulation or the way your body reacts to anesthesia.

3. Prepare Your Recovery Room

Keep in mind that recovering from breast augmentation is a gradual process and it’s important to be as comfortable so that your body doesn’t need to manage unnecessary stress. Prepare a recovery room stocked with your favorite books or magazines, any necessary electronics and a mini fridge full of snacks and water so you don’t need to get up too often. Your recovery room should aim to make your recovery as enjoyable as possible so you can relax as you wait for your final breast augmentation results to develop.
