When he’s not in the clinic, Dr. Chizmar is usually biking or running around Eugene with his wife, Madeline, and their daughter, Josephine, often followed by a coffee-shop stop and time with their two dogs, Scout and Goldie. He also bakes, gardens, and has strong (and frequently shared) opinions about restaurants.

Originally from Saint Augustine, Florida, Dr. Chizmar has lived in New Orleans, Houston, and Dallas before relocating to Eugene. In med school he played bass and sang in a band called The Fractures. “At 16, I broke my nose in a mosh pit at a concert, and my mom pushed me to get it fixed. That was my first experience with plastic surgery, and it’s how I learned firsthand how much of an impact this field can have on someone’s life. I try to hold on to that empathy with every patient I treat.”
