Mom holding baby - mommy makeoverIf you are looking into ways to reclaim your body after pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding, chances are good you have come across articles about mommy makeovers. And if you have Googled “mommy makeover cost,” you have no doubt noticed that there is a very wide range of prices — more so than with other plastic surgery procedures. Why is this?

A Mommy Makeover Is What You Want it to Be

There is no one way to approach a mommy makeover. This is because what’s included in a mommy makeover is up to you as the client, based on the areas of your body you wish to change. The more areas you address, the higher the cost goes.

Some procedures commonly included in mommy makeovers are:

  • Breast augmentation
  • Breast lift
  • Breast reduction
  • Areola reduction
  • Navel revision
  • Tummy tuck
  • Liposuction
  • Excess skin removal

Each of these will carry on their own, a price tag of thousands of dollars, which factors into the final price of a mommy makeover. However, the cost of the procedure isn’t all that goes into the total.

Associated Fees

[pullquote]A mommy makeover is something of a build-your-own procedure. You decide what goes into it, which in turn impacts the cost.[/pullquote]

When you look up average costs for a mommy makeover, the numbers you get are only for the surgery itself. Other aspects that are not factored into these estimates include:

  • Your surgeon’s fee
  • The facility fee or operating room rental per hour
  • Your anesthesiologist’s fee
  • Materials
  • Post-surgery office visits
  • Prescription medications
  • Post-surgery garments

Each of these items will add to your overall total. However, if you sit down with a plastic surgeon for a consult, it should include most of these associated costs and give you a more accurate idea of what you will pay.
