The 55-year-old patient had two previous c-sections and a hysterectomy. Although she had diabetes controlled with oral medications, in preparing her for surgery, a hemoglobin A1C level showed very good control with a result of 5.6. As such, surgery was felt to be a great option for her. She disliked her abdominal contours and the fullness to her outer thighs. A muscle tightening (imbricating) abdominoplasty with hip liposuction, as well as outer thigh liposuction was performed. A little over 4 1/4 pounds of skin was removed with another 2 1/2 pounds of liposuction. Her 7-month postoperative photograph shows that the scars are still fading, but her contours are quite dramatic. The improvement in outer thigh contours can also be seen easily from the front view. As dramatic as the entire result was at seven months, she is most happy about the bellybutton!
