This 52 year old patient consulted with Dr. Daniel about breast reduction. She had symptomatology consisting of back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain and even occasional rashes under her breasts. She tried physical therapy, diet and exercise to no avail. With this symptomatology, it was felt that a reduction would improve things significantly and indeed insurance approved her surgery. She was a 46 DD before surgery and she wanted to be a C to a C+. She did have some mild diet-controlled diabetes and high blood pressure, but no significant medical problems preoperatively. Using the “pedicle technique”, 972 grams were removed from the right breast and 1,024 grams were removed from the left breast. This was just under 4.5 pounds total. Postoperative photographs were taken at six months. Breast shape and nipple position are markedly improved, as was virtually all of her symtomatology.
